one show down, one more to go! I can’t believe that we are almost done with the program. It is strange to reflect and feel that the time just flew by. Every morning we would get out of bed to a symphony of cracking bones, drag ourselves to an early breakfast and fight off the weariness to jump into technique class at 9 A.M. which would begin the days full schedule. At times the days seemed to be endless and the breaks too few. However now at the culmination of all of our hard work, I know that we will soon be missing those early mornings and long days.
Like Rachel, I have been feeling an overwhelming sense of disbelief that the program is close to an end. Last night’s show was so much fun, but I’m glad that we have another opportunity to perform it again tonight. It is strange to think that the culmination of all the work we have done over the past 3 weeks is only an hour long show. A densely packed hour to be sure, but still an amazingly brief amount to cover everything.
As the show is only hours away, our departure is within the hours as well. Now there seems to be not enough time as we scramble to pack, and take our last pictures and aganoize over geting the right size in a Martha Graham tee -shirt while we still have our discount. I wish everyone good luck/”Merde” for the show this afternoon, and apologize ahead of time for going overboard with picture during the show. ( O I will be taking lots and lots and lots of pictures – trust me lol)
We are in our last day here, at Skidmore, and many of us seem rather stunned. We had our last class this morning, and there was both a sense of accomplishment and community, but also, I think, a tinge of sadness as well. I have found a real heaven on earth here… a place where other people would join me in my room late at night to look through Graham books, a place where we worked to create and recreate material, and a place where we were able to come into contact with so many divine dancers and teachers. I am so proud of, and full of love for everyone. Merde this afternoon!!!!!
