Clytemnestra’s impression

Watching the entire video of Cllytemnestra really helped me to understand the role that I am doing, Iphigenia. Miki explained to me so much about how she is innocent and confused about the situation she was in. Iphigenia in the video captured those futures clearly, and now I have a clear vision of what I should focus on. I was amazed how she was able to capture furious confusion and her fragility at the same time. My favorite part of the dance is climbing up to the key because it is a perfect move to show her fragility her seeking of her mother’s help. Because now I have a clear picture of Iphigenia’s characteristics and situations, I am very thrilled when I practice!

Clytemnestra played by Ms. Yuriko in the video amazed me so much, especially her power coming out from her “eye” power, glances, and her facial expressions. It made sense to me when Peter explained to us about how Martha Graham was influenced by Japanese Kabuki and Noh.
